Defining Your Difference Part 1

'A Cry For Meaning'

Deep within the heart of humankind is the desperate cry for meaning and significance that often eludes us, and a belief that somehow life and work could have worked out differently. We can often feel disappointed and even cynical about life and the results of our work because our current reality and circumstances seem to deny us the freedoms we so desperately seek. How do we change things and start building a better world for ourselves and for those around us? How do we compete in a hostile and uncaring world and not just survive, but live life in all its fullness? The answer lies in a revolution of our heart, as it is in our hearts that real and unstoppable change happens, and it is through this change that our minds are liberated to create our 'new world'.

Our choice of whether we adopt a 'scarcity mentality' or an 'abundance mentality' as our dominant world-view determines our ongoing reality. As we filter our actions and responses through our world-view, the result is either an expanding or shrinking life experience. Because a 'scarcity mentality' causes us to see resources and opportunities, and life itself as limited, this usually results in a self-centred approach that affects everything else. People with this view of the world tend to focus on what they can 'get out of life' rather than what they can contribute to life. Irrespective of what they own, it is often never enough, and progress that other people make can threaten them. An 'abundance mentality' on the other hand, causes us to see life as an adventure with limitless possibilities, with rewards for those who eagerly embrace its tough challenges that stimulate our progress and refine our character.

Our journey to Define our difference…and Maximise our impact requires an 'abundance mentality' and starts with our decision to become an influencer of unstoppable change rather than remaining a spectator in life.

By definition, no one can compete with anyone else's uniqueness. The principles applied in the process of defining your difference and maximising your impact will therefore enable you to express yourself in a way that no one else can replicate, giving you the means to 'grow your world' and achieve the things that are so important to you both in your business and personal life.
